Welcome Thank you for taking the time to comb through my website.
Below I have compiled a list of a few questions I get asked often. I thought you might find them interesting. Plus it will save you from asking them yourself.
QUESTION: What made you want to participate in NaNoWriMo?
ANSWER: I have wanted to write a book for many years, but I could never get started. NaNoWriMo gave me the extra “push” along with an organized daily wordcount — to not only start, but to push myself to finish.
QUESTION: Have you always wanted to write?
ANSWER: As I said, Yes, I have always wanted to write. I wrote a lot in high school, and I actually began a novel when my children were young, but I never finished it.
QUESTION: Clearly your memoir is not the first thing you wrote… what was the first novel you wrote?
ANSWER: Years ago, I began a contemporary romance novel, but never finished it. When I participated in NaNoWriMo in 2013, I wrote an Amish fiction novel… well, it began as Amish fiction, but ended up as an Amish Suspense novel.
QUESTION: Why did you publish your memoir before you published your novel?
ANSWER: Since it is technically my first novel, I am still learning “how” to write a novel that others will want to read. Right now it is still in the edit mode, but someday I hope to publish it.
QUESTION: Are non-fiction and Amish the only genres you write in?
ANSWER: So far, but I would like to try to write a children’s series sometime in the future.
QUESTION: What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
ANSWER: Never give up. If you truly want to write, set a time – or a daily word count, and just do it.
QUESTION: When will you finish your Amish suspense novel?
ANSWER: I’m hoping to finish it by next spring – and send it out to agents!
Now for some fun…
QUESTION: Favorite color?
QUESTION: Favorite foods?
ANSWER: Kiwi, berries, watermelon, vegetable fried rice, BLT
QUESTION: Favorite season?
QUESTION: Favorite vacation spot?
ANSWER: Tough question. I love the beach; I love waking up and walking in the surf, while watching the sun rise; the sound of the waves soothes and relaxes me. And I love the mountains; the peace and tranquility, the soft sounds of water in shallow streams, and the cool, refreshing air renews my spirit.
Before you go, I’d like to share my favorite Bible verses with you…
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
~ John 3:16 KJV
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
~ John 3:17 KJV
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
~ Phillippians 4:8 KJV
